Hi Gary,

As a Voice Attack Supporter and paying customer, I’d like to see a very relevant function that will not only improve Voice Attack but will also improve the user experience.

Attached is a screenshot that I’ve taken of Voice Attack hearing/recognizing commands that I am not speaking. I work with a set of headphones on, that also plays music while I speak commands. Voice Attack is hearing what it thinks I Am saying, but it is actually the music from the headphone set, feeding back into the mic.

My idea is that if you add an adjustable mic threshold (red marker location: see attachment), Voice Attack will only recognize commands  that cross this audible threshold, which are spoken by the user,.

This solves the problem that in the event Voice Attack does hear a command it recognizes (from background noise, etc.), it will not execute that command, due to it not being spoken by the user.

I’d love to hear your feedback on this, please feel free to contact me at this email. I Hope to see this feature implemented soon to make this lovely program more efficient and to solve my issue.

Thanks,
-Tristian Jones

Hi, Tristian.

Thanks for the suggestion.  I will look to see if there is a way to get the audio level at the same time that the recognized/unrecognized events occur.  It may be tricky to pin that one down, tho.

As a workaround (at least this is what I do, since I leave my mic on all the time) is to double click on the offending word in the log (brings up the, 'add command' screen), choose, 'Other' and then select, 'Ignore command'.  I added that because I kept seeing, 'ff', 'a', 'f', etc. in the log.  Seems a little tedious, but, you'll probably find that there will only be a handful of words that you'll need to do this to.

Hope that helps some.

Gary
