A warning to users of the Ivona 2 trial voices:

I have been having serious issues with VoiceAttack since I uninstalled Ivona 2 "Amy" once the trial period expired. After emailing back and forth with Gary, I decided to do a system restore to the point before it was uninstalled and low and behold, VoiceAttack worked fine again.

The problems included: crashing, failure to execute commands, a delay on executing commands, and inability to edit my profile.

So just a heads-up if you use Ivona 2 you may not want to uninstall it.

In retrospect, I remember reading it is near impossible to completely uninstall Ivona 2 because the uninstaller doesn't properly do it, and it leaves behind some files. I'm betting it was something left behind that was causing it.

Thanks for checking on this, Aric.  Not really sure why they've gotta wind themselves up so deep in the OS.  Isn't that an Amazon product now?

For anybody following along, the clues were in the error messages that Aric provided... there was stuff in there about the speech synth not behaving, so, if you see that kind of message, you're probably in the same boat.

Just removed IVONA voices and the IVONA reader and ran CCleaner and I've had no issues with VA.
