I've begun altering profile templates to run commands in my windows enviornment, as an on board Jarvis AI.

Anyone know of an existing profile with all essential commands?... or am I going to be the first person who's tried this?

Certainly, the AI is lacking intelligence based on screen data and information... but with the latest beta features in VA, I feel like we're on the verge of having total control.

What are your thoughts? Looking forward to creating this for the public, and help would be appreciated.

I have been working on a profile myself, but I have one issue currently which is that I cannot seem to get macros involving the windows key to execute (like Win+L for lock computer). If this is a legitimate bug and can be fixed, it would allow for a lot more functionality for this purpose.

The Windows logo key + most keys are blocked by Windows at the level that VoiceAttack runs for security reasons.  The blocked keys are different depending on the version of Windows (I believe).  For a sanity run, I tried in AutoHotkey without success as well.  Sorry, bud!

Proteus,

It's not exactly pressing Win + L, but you can get VA to lock the PC, with the following

Run an application action: c:\windows\System32\rundll32.exe
and use these as the parameters: user32.dll,LockWorkStation

Also the app nircmd (get it form http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/nircmd.html) is really good at doing those things like Win + L, that the OS will not let you do with an ordinary Win + something keypress, its actually got a much wider range of uses too.

Regards,
Slan

Hey... good find, Slan!

Gary

Wonder if I should add, 'Lock pc' and/or, 'Show desktop' to, 'perform a windows function'...  too specific?

I'd say prob too specific, and may not work across windows versions either! They are really OS operations, it's not as if VA can't make it happen, just not with "normal keypresses"

On Windows 7?  It's not working for me on 10.
Alt+tab works on 7, too...  Stopped on 8 and seems to work again on 10... Lol

Yeah. I"m using Windows 10.
Show desktop and open run both work just fine for me.

I've also been having fun creating a kinda personal assistant for a while, i tested some of the Windows+ commands in this page:

these are the ones that work for me on Windows 10:
Windows
Windows + Tab
Windows + C
Windows + S
Windows + I
Windows + A
Windows + [Left][Right][Up][Down]
Windows + X
Windows + D
Windows + E
Windows + Shift + [Left][Right]
Windows + [1][2][3][…]
Windows + R

Lock windows (Windows + L) doesn't work for me either.
