I am setting up voice attack on a new PC and this is the first time this has happened to me. I bind a voice command to keystroke the letter f  just for testing because commands are not being sent to the game.  I choose active window and open notepad. When i give the voice command it is recognized and the active window is deselected (like if you clicked outside the notepad window and the cursor disappears). I have tested this on my other PC and it works fine with the same test it types the letter f in notepad.

I have tried to specify enable process target on the actual command as well as standard/windows game input method on the keypress level.  I will likely uninstall and try the beta version next but wanted to see if anyone had some experience with this issue.

Hi, Clinton.

I'm not sure what's going on with your system.  Is it possible for you to export your profile with just the needed commands and send to sup...@voiceattack.com?  I can take a look at it and see if there's something up.

Here is the issue. You can see the window gets deselected when a command is spoken.

Hi, Clinton.  I believe you when you say it's doing that.  What I'm hoping to get is your profile with the affected commands so I can run it here and see if I can reproduce the problem ;)

Same problem here.

If I use a "voice-only-order"(say "hello" and get answer "hello, nice to see you"), everything is fine.

When I use a "key-press-action" (say "test": press "o" for 0,100 sek and release Key) I change from my game (Star Citizen) to the VA-window and after a short time back to the game. The key-press is not executed.

What I tried:
- change the direction from "active window" directly to "star citizen" - no effect
- change the keyboard mode from "windows game (direct x)" to "standard" - no effect

The profile has only those two actions.

This issue was not resolved however we did find a workaround. when the window was deselected with hit ALT-F4 and the program works fine. I suspect there may be some background program on this particular users computer that is causing interference.

Hello,

thanks for your fast response. But the Workaround does not work.

Speaking a command that initiates a key-press-order, VA deselects the game windows for about half a second (black screen) and then focuses back (you can see this in the vid Clinton posted. Pressing ALT-F4 causes ends the game.

Any other idea?

The alt F4 solution closed what ever was causing the issue in the video. it sounds like you might have a different issue. (i am clinton i posted the video)

Hmmm ... tricky.

Tried ALT F4 with office and it worked well. Hoped that opening office, killing the background effect and then starting the game would work ... but apparently the start of the game seems to re-trigger the background process. And the game-window just defocus to shortly so that I cannot send an ALT-F4 to the background.

Seems that I have to try a bit longer.

And I saw that you answered just after I had sent my reply :-)

Thanks
Alexander

I have the exact same problem... any keystrokes sent to an active window lose focus as soon as the command runs.. it all worked just fine on Wiondows 7 but now on Windows 10 my imported commands don't all work.
Mainly anything that requires sending a keystroke.. the target window becomes inactive right away so the command can never run. WTF???

Same problem here. When I get VA to launch an application, the launched application immediately loses focus, preventing any further interaction. Looking through this group I can see a number of people with this problem, all using Windows 10. Definitely something that needs to be fixed.

So, all this worked under Windows 7 and then when you upgraded to Windows 10, VoiceAttack stopped working?  Wondering if this is a rights issue, as I'm able to select all, copy, and paste between windows (in Windows 10 pro, 64 bit).

On a side note, the problem that Clinton was having had to do with another app that was installed was surreptitiously intercepting input.

You know what... we might be on to something here with certain conditions.  I'll keep you posted (I have a heap of things I need to go thru first, since I'm just now getting back from limbo).

Make sure Voice Attack is running with administrator priveldges.  For me (Windows 7) right click on the shortcut, properties, then compatibility.

Setting VA to run with administrator priveledges solved this exact problem for me.
