Voice attack and registering Steam Controller

I was attempting to record steam controller button presses and nothing would register. Can support be added?

The Steam controller is quite a peculiar beast... i'm not even sure it register as a standard controller outside of Steam, i think it's seen by the O.S. as a set of mouse and keyboard or generic "HID device", so you probably have to take that into account when profiling in VA

Luca is right.  If the controller does not present itself to Windows as a joystick or a mouse or a keyboard, there's nothing in VA currently that will use it.  If there is an API that needs to be bolted in, it would be after there were some significant requests for the device to be added.  It all has to do with how easy it is to hook in, along with the demand for implementation.
