I found the steps in section 13.1 of your very excellent GIT tutorial, http://www.vogella.com/articles/Git/article.html, did not work for me. Specificly cloning gitbook with
    git clone g...@github.com:vogella/gitbook.git
resulted in an error
    tim:~/online$ git clone g...@github.com:vogella/gitbook.git
    Cloning into 'gitbook'...
    Permission denied (publickey).
    fatal: The remote end hung up unexpectedly
The http version did work well for me.
