Hey,

We installed the latest VocBench and ShowVoc releases, 15.1.0 and 6.1.0 respectively, and since then we've noticed an impactful increase in GraphDB RAM usage. We are trying to find the cause and therefore would like to know if the new versions might be behind it, have You encountered similar problems?

Best regards,
Sharon

Dear Sharon,

as the new versions are both compatible with GDB 10.x and 11.x, the first question would be: which version of GDB are you mentioning?

A second question could be related to the number of repositories: do you have numbers that guarantee that there’s not been any changes in the number of repos in between your tests? (which would then independent of the version change in VB/SV).

Even though it’s a persistent store technology, GDB uses a certain amount of RAM “per-repository” for fast-caching (parts of) the query execution. On our side, the number of managed repos didn’t change with the new versions of VB and SV. The most relevant update is the renewed MDR, which surely includes much more data, but it’s managed through an embedded RDF4J native-store repo (so, in case, it would be impacting the memory foot print of Semantic Turkey).

Everything else should stay the same, so if you haven’t changed the version of GDB, nothing should have changed as well.

Kind Regards,

Armando
