Getting started with alignment

Dear VocBench community,

I am currently exploring the alignment support in VocBench. I think I have a kind of broad understanding of how it works, but I’m still a bit at loss with regard to actually getting started.

My concrete goal is to align my SKOS vocabulary with the Getty AAT. Does anyone have suggestions of how to approach this? There’s a list of systems implementing the Alignment API, but it’s a bit overwhelming. Is there a service that would be suitable for this task? Would I run it locally or are there even publicly available services that one can query from VocBench?

On a slightly related note: The OpenRefine reconciliation API seems to be increasingly popular, with several public services available, including one for Getty vocabs. Maybe I have a completely wrong idea, but would it be possible to use an OpenRefine reconciliation service for alignment in VocBench? Is there a translator between the two APIs?

I don't have any experience with automatic alignment, but this EU page has a rough outline of the process and lists some tools.
