Hi,

Currently, we have several large projects open/running in VB (skos/skos) to which many users have certain rights.  For one of the projects however, only 1 out of 20+ users produces an error when Admin specifies the access type ( for example lexicographer or lurker), belonging to a certain group and having edit rights for 1 language for example French).
The oddity is that the error message below concerns 1) 1 language only (French) out of 14, 2) 1 of the three active users with the same roles (lexicographer sometimes replaced by lurker), and for 3) 1 project only out of the 2 projects this user has access to. What do you advise we should do? I can add the details if you so wish.  Thank you.

com.fasterxml.jackson.dataformat.yaml.snakeyaml.error.MarkedYAMLException: while scanning a simple key in 'reader', line 47, column 1: se ^ could not find expected ':' in 'reader', line 48, column 20: showDatatypeBadge: false ^ at [Source: (InputStreamReader); line: 45, column: 27]
Details:

Best wishes,
Jeannine

Hi team,

As the error message keeps on appearing, and we are not aware of any issues at our side (using AWS), could you please advise whether the issue originates at your side, thanks.

Best wishes,
Jeannine

Dear Jeannine,
the error message suggests that a settings files may have been corrupted, which prevents the system from reading or writing it correctly.
The error mentions showDatatypeBadge, which is a Project-User setting. Since you reported that the issue occurs only for a specific user in a specific project, this may help us identify the file, most likely located at:

SemanticTurkeyData/pu_bindings/PROJ/USER/plugins/it.uniroma2.art.semanticturkey.settings.core.SemanticTurkeyCoreSettingsManager/settings.props

where:
  • PROJ is the name of the project in question
  • USER is the identifier of the user. You should be able to recognize the correct directory, as it ends with the (encoded) user email address (e.g. semanticturkey.uniroma2.it%2Fusers%2FEMAIL_ADDRESS_HERE)

Please note that performing this operation requires access to the filesystem where SemanticTurkey stores its data.

Once you locate the file, the first step would be to verify whether it is indeed corrupted. For this reason, it would be very helpful if you could send it to us (it should not contain any sensitive data).
If it turns out to be the problematic file, there are two possible ways forward:
  • we can manually repair its content and then send it back to you, so you can replace the corrupted one while preserving the existing settings;
  • or you can simply delete it, so the system will recreate it from scratch (Note, however, that in this case existing settings for that specific project-user will be lost).
Kind regards,
Tiziano
