Hello

I'm running on VB 3.8.0 and I was trying to import Dublin Core Terms. This worked fine. On Metadata > Namespaces and Imports, the namespaces dc, dct and dublin_core_terms appear on the left panel.

However, the terms do not appear if I'd like to assign them to a certain concept. For instance, I have an rdf:type skos:Concept, and I have only owl: and skos attributes to choose from.

What step(s) am I missing?

Thanks,
Juerg

Dear Juerg,

you should import the vocabulary. I’m sorry the confusion arises because we inherit the various prefix-namespace mappings from the triple store being used and the one you are using (don’t recall exactly, this happens for sure with graphdb, though I guess with rdf4j as well) is already providing those mappings.

In the end, this comes  handy if you have data that is already asserted using these vocabularies or, for instance, if you are using some automatic mean (e.g. see the resource metadata feature [1]) to assert metadata using Dublin core properties.

However, if you want to manually use Dublin core properties/classes, you should explicitly owl:import the vocabulary (see [2] )

Kind Regards,

Armando

Thanks Armando

Don't know what I did originally, I thought it was much the same, perhaps I had tried a format other than xml/rdf. Anyway, [2] did it!

Best,
Juerg
