Senior Research Associate in Explainable AI for Natural
Language Processing
Fixed term until 31 March 2021
Grade 8: Salary £40,792 – £48,677 p.a. (note: post may be
under-filled at grade 7: £32,236 - £39,609 p.a.)

An exciting oppounity has arisen for a Senior Resaerch Associate to work under supervision of Professor Marta Kwiatkowska in connection with the Innovate UK project "Enabling Rapid Adoption of Artificial Intelligence through an Anonymised Data Protocol and Explainable Models" led by Genie AI and collaborators. The project aims to develop an intelligent contract editor using novel machine learning algorithms. The editor, called “SuperDrafter,” processes confidential data to give previously unavailable insights to lawyers and make smart recommendations during drafting, negotiation and review.
You will have responsibility for carrying out research into interpretability/explainability of machine learning decisions; robustness guarantees for recurrent neural networks; machine learning models for natural language processing (NLP); and application of the developed techniques to case studies provided by project partners, interacting and collaborating with them as necessary. You will also be expected to assist with management of the work package and to liaise with the project management team.
Applications are sought from suitably qualified and experienced
applicants holding a PhD, who have sufficient specialist
knowledge of foundations of machine learning, formal
verification and NLP.
