PNA-X Noise Receiver

Hi Michael, 

My goal is to perform noise parameter measurement in VNA tools using PNA-X N5427B with noise receiver option. 

I have managed to collect s-parameter and power calibration data, but I am unable to activate the noise receiver option dialog box. I can toggle the noise receiver on and off in the VNA settings when the connection is closed. However, once I open the connection, the noise receiver option is turned off and can no longer be toggled anymore. 

At that point, the only available option is to add noise measurements through spectrum analyzer. 

Could you kindly suggest a possible solution?

Hi Karrar,

 

the Agilent_PNA_Series driver is not yet supporting the noise receiver of a PNA-X. The driver needed to be extended for that.

Therefore, we would need a PNA-X with a noise receiver to develop the driver. We would need to borrow it for 2–3 weeks and you have to compensate us for the driver development.

As an alternative you may ask Keysight if they are interested to loan a PNA-X from their demo pool and pay the driver development or help to share the costs.
