Hello,

I have no success in connecting/controlling our VNA (PNA-L N5230) with VNA tools II (V1.6.1 - 26.10.2015).
My steps:

1.     The GPIB connection runs without problems using LabView 2010 (see "PCI-GPIB VNA.JPG"). LabView is closed.

2.     I created a new VNA database entry and choosed 'VNA_Device_DefaultUnc'.

3.     I specified the name “PNA_N5230A”.

4.     I selected the driver “Agilent_PNA_Series” and the actual VISA Resource name “GPIB0::16::INSTR” acc. to NI Measurement and Automation Explorer (see "PCI-GPIB VNA.JPG").

5.     I specified the average factor, IF bandwidth and power .

6.     The test device runs successfully: “Instrument identification query passed …” (see "VNA tools II_ VNA settings.JPG").

7.     I saved the data.

In the journal VNA setings I choosed my VNA device “PNA_N5230A”.

The points “Preset - Save.. - Recall.. - Refresh” remains light grey and I cannot get access to the device (see "VNA in Measurement Journal.jpg").

What can I do?

Thanks and regards

York

Hello,
I cleared my mistake. It was not an error by the hardware / software, it was a mistake  in my handling. I did not realize that I have to load the driver for the VNA with the creation of a new project.
Thank you
York

Hi,

You can select the VNA Device as well in the measurement journal.
And then click on Open before adding VNA Settings to the journal.

Regards
Michael
