Hello Michael,

when characterizing rect. Waveguide to Coax adapters with 1-port de-embedding technique, there is the problem, that I have two one-port calibrations with different reference impedance.

Rect. waveguide: Zr: 1 Ohm

Koax: Zr: 50 Ohm

I'm not sure if cascading will work, but I don’t think so.

My current workaround is, that I do both one-port calibration with reference impedance Zr: 50 Ohm. But then I have to manipulate the characterized rect. waveguide calibration standards (Zr 1 Ohm to Zr 50 Ohm via .s1p). Uncertainty propagation is no longer possible.

I hope there are better ways…?

Thanks and regards

Hi,

1. Perform Waveguide calibration e_waveguide with Zr = 1 Ohm
2. Perform coaxial calibration e_coxial with Zr = 50 Ohm
3. De-embedded will work with different reference impedances

Hope this helps.
Michael
