Dear Michael,

I went to check the graph of my data-based standards, and they look different from the original file. After some tinkering, I found out it only looks the same with the same frequency points .My question is, what is the interpolation method used for these standards, and is there a way to change it? Below, you can find the standard with default frequency points vs the original file

Best regards
Ehsan

Hi,

VNA Tools uses cubic interpolation. And you can not change it.

Details:
The real and imaginary parts are interpolated using cubic interpolation. If I would use linear interpolation the magnitude of a high reflect would get to small. In your example is getting a little bit to large. Spline interpolation has as well other drawbacks. That's the reason why I have chosen cubic interpolation.

Normally I say: AVOID INTERPOLATION.

If you want to use another interpolation routine you could use the Script tabular page of VNA Tools, see the following links:

Regards
Michael
