Position: Dev Ops Engineer

Location: Palo Alto CA

1 skype interview+ 1 client interview

Contract-6+ Months

Key Responsibilities:

Support a large scale distributed environment for superior uptime
Build tools and automation for application management and operations
Performance tune infrastructure and application stacks for high performance
Work closely with Engineering teams on high performance compute requirements
Perform capacity planning for a rapidly growing Productions environment
Provide second and third level support for a global SaaS platform
Find and test new infrastructure and application technologies to help improve the platform scalability and operations

Required Experience & Qualifications:

BS or equivalent experience in Computer Science or other technical domain.
5+ years of solid Linux (RedHat/CentOS) engineering and administration experience, including kernel configurations. Knowledge and Experience with Linux containers a plus.
Solid understanding of infrastructure and application performance metrics.
Experience and solid understanding of various infrastructure components: servers, storage, and networking (TCP/IP, DNS, Load Balancing).
Experience using configuration management tools, such as Puppet and Chef.
Hands on development experience.
Experience working in physical, virtual, and 'cloud' environments.
Experience with web application build, deployment, and release management.
Experience configuring and maintaining application monitoring/trending tools such as Nagios, Zabbix, and graphite/statsd.
Advanced Unix/Linux based scripting skills: Perl, Bash, Groovy, PHP, etc.
Familiarity with relational databases. Postgresql would be a plus.
