First, Suse 7.3 is not a "supported" guest for this product. (Doesn't
mean you can't get it to work....bit it is "possible" that the answer
will be that it won't)

Second, are you installing from a CD or from a DVD? (The VMware
product you are using does NOT have DVD support)

Do NOT reply to me by e-mail.

Please note: I do NOT work for Vmware.
I'm a customer just like you are.

Hi,

i'am installing from CD, and I have a Information from Suse Germany that
say: Suse Linux 7.3 and VMware Workstation3.0 and GSX Server are woking
together.

Thanks

Then go ask Suse for support. Because no matter what Suse says....it
is still NOT a supported guest OS for the VMware product you are
using.

The only people who can add it to the supported guest OS list is
VMware. Suse can't do it.

Since you are choosing to install an unsupported Guest OS then you are
accepting the burden of having to troubleshoot any issues.

Have you:

Chosen text mode at any of the installer steps?
(Until VMware tools are installed, graphics modes won't be available)

Tried the:
cdrom.synchronous=TRUE
option in your config file?
(It's needed for some of the distributions based on 2.4.x kernels)

Bypassed any choices about configuring an X server?
(since you can't do so until the VMware tools are installed)
(or if Suse 7.3 includes a FULL set of XFree86 4.1.0 then you should
have a choice for VMware as a video driver)
