"Your version of VMWare tools is out of date" warning message

Hi guys,

i have a question about the free download of VMWare Server:

I've been running this program on a server for quite some time now, but
recently i noticed a warning/informational message in the statusbar telling
me "your version of VMWare Tools is out of date". What does this mean?

I am quite shure that i have the latest version (&build) of VMWare Server
installed.
