Hi

I am new to VMware so please excuse me if this is a stupid question.

Guest OS will be windows 2000 pro.
What I would like to do is copy from the base windows 2000 install into
the guest windows 2000 install. I need this to function one way only,
so no copy or cut from the guess OS to the base OS.

I have spoken with VMware pre-sales on 2 occasions the first gentleman
told me this was possible so we got an eval version and installed it
only to be told by the second gentleman that it was not possible.

So is this possible or is it not is my question? and if it is so how?

Thanks in advance
Martin

Dear Martin,

If you mean copying files from your host OS to your guest OS (=virtual
machine), the only possible way I can think of is creating a file share on
the host system and browsing to that share from the guest (Start -> Run ->
\\SERVER_NAME_OF_HOST_COMPUTER\SHARE_NAME [Enter])

That's the way I do these kind of things.
If your guest OS would be Windows 2003, you could remote desktop to that
machine and access your host computer drives from within the session, but
the speed of copy/paste of files is very slow.

Regards,
Jeroen Elias
