can't ping within vmware and vice versa

Hello,

I just installed vmware, and i installed XP pro on it... everything went
fine, everything works. I also installed the tools, ok.
But now i want to ping from the host pc to the virtual networkcard, and it
don't seems to work...
When i try to ping from vmware to my physical card, in my host, it doesn't
work either.
I have allready tried with my firewall disabled, but it doesn't work!
Can somebody please help me out, with some hintfull tips to do? So i can put
a small network together....
