I'm setting up a Vmware Workstation 5.4.2 with different client OS on
a W2K3 server connected to and member of a domain in a private IP
range. All Vm-OS are automatically bridged to the domain. For XP and
W2K I experience no trouble connecting and taking membership on the
domain as long as I give up a new IP adress. For NT and 98SE, however,
I manage to get connected and to ping, but ones I try to make an
account, the DC is not found. I can see the c$ on the host server.
The servers' network adapter is a Broadcom NetXtreme 57xx Gigabit
Controller. Within NT and 98SE, the adapter to use is Ethernet for AMD
PCNET PCI.
The domain has no DHCP. It does have NAT, but if I try connecting this
way and fill in an IP and SM to get access to the domain, the IP range
is not accepted within that subnet mask.
I cannot install the VMWare tools as I don't have SP6 installed yet,
because an IE cannot be installed and I only have an internet version
of SP6.
The server is a Dell Optiplex GX280
Can anyone help me ?
Thanx a lot
