install problem

I have:
- Dell 670
- XP professional
- VMWare 4.0.5
- a new VM with no OS
- downloaded fedora-core in 3 iso files

I set the vm settings
- boot from the disk 1 ISO file
- connect the CD at poweron

I restart the vm and it:
- gives me the message box about the lack of the VMWare tools
- it flashes the VMWare boot image
- makes racket with the CDRom

and does nothing else.

I am a bit confused. It just won't go through with the boot.

Any help is appreciated.
