Hi All. I'm using VMWare 3.2 on host OS WinXP SP1 on a IBM T23 laptop
with 384MB RAM. I just installed Mandrake Linux 9 as a guest OS and
everything seems ok except two annoying problems.

1. NumLock seems to be always enabled whenever I try to disable it. In
the linux shell, it disables properly, but when in XWin, trying to
disable NumLock just results to an annoying beep. NumLock is still
enabled afterwards. I need to disable it or else I can't type (the
number keys are super imposed on the normal keys on the IBM keyboard).

2. For some reason, there is a noticeable lag in the system once I run
a VM. Meaning, about every 10 seconds, the entire system freezes for
half a second, then resumes execution. Checking Task Manager, I can
see the CPU spiking around the time of each computer freeze.

At first I thought these problems were because of Mandrake 9 since
it's not officially supported according to specs, so I tried
installing 8.2, but problems still occur. I've never had these
problems before so

If anyone can provide any insight to these problems I'd greatly
appreciate it. Thanks.
