Shared folders -- please help

Hello,

Please, has anyone come across this before? I want to install software
on a virtual machine. I have the installation files on the host. I
setup the location of the files as a shared folder, start the vm,
access the files from the shared folder and then run setup.

Some install text and controls are missing from the controls on the
install dialogs. The install is OK when I try running setup on the
host PC.
