I set up a Virtual PC using Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 so I could run ACCPAC
for Windows under XP on my Vista Machine. Originally I had trouble setting
up Pervasive SQL 2000i which is
the data manager for Accpac. The installation program simply didn't run on
the Virtual PC 2007.

After briefly looking around a bit, people were reporting
successfully running Pervasive under VMWare, so I downloaded the player, and
voila, the installation ran and Accpac installed and ran just fine. After
a few days and many successful starts and shutdowns however, the VMWare
Virtual machine hung, hanging the host as well and on rebooting would no
longer run, giving me a bunch of failure messages along with a log.

As I only have the Player, I'm assuming I'm not eligible for VMware support,
so I was wondering if there were some steps I could take on my own to try to
get it straightened out. I tried uploading the log and dump files, but
apparently that won't fly.

Thanks,
Richard
