Scanner driver installation in Guest OS crashed the guest

Hi

I run the VMWare 5.5 18007 build version on Windows 2003 x64 Ent. Ed. One of
my guest machines is Windows XP SP1 with a USB controller installed.
The moment the VM is logged in I turn on my scanner. This is detected by the
VM and the driver installation wizard appears. I browse to the location of
the driver and press OK to install the driver. This process starts and the
driver installation begins. Near the end of the installation the VM crashes
and hangs in a BSOD. This only happens if I run the VM in the 5.5.0 18007
build, not if I run the same guest under the 5.0 Version of VMWare.

Has anyone succesfully connected and used a scanner yet under 5.5?
