I'm having a big problem with the installation on VMWare 5 on Mandriva LE
2005. Basically, it installs fine for the RPM file, however when
attempting to run vmware-config.pl i get the following message:

Making sure services for VMware Workstation are stopped.

Stopping VMware services:
Virtual machine monitor [ OK ]

Configuring fallback GTK+ 2.4 libraries.

Trying to find a suitable vmmon module for your running kernel.

None of the pre-built vmmon modules for VMware Workstation is suitable for
your
running kernel. Do you want this program to try to build the vmmon module
for
your system (you need to have a C compiler installed on your system)? [yes]

Using compiler "/usr/bin/gcc". Use environment variable CC to override.

What is the location of the directory of C header files that match your
running
kernel? [/usr/src/linux/include]

The path "/usr/src/linux/include" is an existing directory, but it does not
contain at least one of these directories "linux", "asm", "net" as expected.

I can confirm that I have indeed got the correct Kernel source file
installed (which in my case is 2.6.11-6mdk), and their are actually
directories called linux, asm-i386 and net in the /usr/src/linux/include
directory. I have even tried pointing the installer to the true directory
(/usr/src/linux-2.6.11-6mdk) and this comes back with exactly the same
error message - Can anyone help?

Cheers,
Stephen W

I didn't - but I have just added the symlink, and the installlation now
works perfectly. Something to watch out for I think with Mandriva 2005.
Many Thanks, I knew it would something simple like that...;-)
