linux command line standalone VMWare P2V

Hello,

A few years ago I converted a linux server to a VMWare virtual
machine. I recall converting the local host storing the image to a
network drive for later use with VMWare Server 2.0. I did all of this
from the linux command line.

I'm attempting to do this again on a RedHat 5.0 machine that does not
have X windows. According the docs I'm reading and what I've
attempted the VMWare vCenter Converter 4.0.x requires a gui. I know I
did this with a free VMWare product in the past, but I don't recall
what it is. Does anyone have any tips?
