I have RedHat 7 on an ASUS K7V w/ Athlon 850MHz, 512Mb RAM.

I'm running Win2k on VMWare for Linux.

I can't get the serial ports to work despite much poking around.

How might I go about diagnosing the problem?

Thank you!
James

Are they working OK outside of VMware? Definitely start there!

I finally figured it out. I had to drop the transfer rate to 9600 before anything
started showing up from VMWare. From Linux the ports work just fine. 9600 is
pretty poor, but I'm not transferring too much information (to/from Palm Pilot).

Thanks!
