I tried to configure a serial port on my Win2K under VMWare
installation, and now I get the following message at the bios screen:

ERROR 0616: Com B configuration error -device disabled

I looked through the bios setup screens, but I don't see anything about
configuring com ports. I removed the serial port in the config editor,
but the message is still there. Anybody else ever seen this?

Thanks,

Ken

Sounds potentially bogus. If you rename your nvram file out of the way,
does the problem go away (an nvram file containing the defaults will be
regenerated).

I ended up blowing away the config (Win2000 is installed on a raw disk) and
set up the configuration again. Message went away.

I think you were right, some sort of bogus message.
