How can a virtual machine (software on the guest machine) determine
what its vmware guest name is? That is, if I have a machine named
"master" and I clone it to "slave", can the two virtual machines
determine their names? I've looked at vmware tools and and the vix
API, and have poked around in /proc, /sys, and the the filesystem.

BTW, I'm using both Workstation 6.x (Linux host) and ESX. Guest
machines are Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.
