Hi,

i use a IBMxServer with the ServeRAID M5014. I have created a few 'virtuell
drives' in WebBIOS.

ESXi 4.1 can work with this but only as Datastore-Location. It is not
possible to create a RDM on one of this drives.

Under Config/StorageAdapter the ESX shows counting the Targets instead of
the LUNs.

Example:
vmhba2:C2:T0:L0 0
vmhba2:C2:T1:L0 0
vmhba2:C2:T2:L0 0
vmhba2:C2:T3:L0 0
vmhba2:C2:T4:L0 0

Insteed:
vmhba2:C2:T1:L0 0
vmhba2:C2:T1:L1 1
vmhba2:C2:T1:L2 2
vmhba2:C2:T1:L3 3
vmhba2:C2:T1:L4 4

In the WebBIOS (M5014) is a option named 'Cluster', but there is not other
value than 'disabled' for it.

Do you have any hint who i get the virtual drives from the RAID-Controller
as RMD?

BTW: the ESXi boots from USB so the RAID-Controller has not the boot device.
the RDMfilter is disabled.

TiA

Bernd
