easy 6b raid card for esxi on hp server

Hello I am trying to set up a cheap esxi server. I am considering getting 2 ML310e Gen8 v2 - Xeon E3-1220V3, one for backup. It is only 1 cpu but it has 8 threads. Does esxi work with the native hp raid controllers on this server? I prefer a hardware raid although I have a couple of software raid b110i controllers running. I have two servers with 2405 sas controllers but those are only 3Gb. I also read that the adaptec 6405 are a little annoying to set up. Can anyone recommend a 6Gb raid controller that is supported right of the box? also is esxi free for business use? I am only familiar with the demo version that I was able to set up on my home pc using virtualbox.
