Hi

I am a new member of this group and so had a couple of questions.
Please redirect me to a previous threads if they have been discussed
previous as i was unable to locate the same.

1) How can i join this project as contributor and developer?

2) Is there any work going on for vmware view client 4.6 with local
mode and if yes, is there a targeted release date for the same?

Thanks for your replies in advance.

I'm also new.  You may want to go here, http://groups.google.com/group/vmware-view-open-client.

I have created a View Open Client v2.0 iso and burn onto a CD.  I was able to use the CD to boot on my laptop and got connected to virtual desktop.  Do you know how I can transfer the CD onto a USB thumb drive?

Also, I am trying to figure out what customization I do with the viewclient.conf file.  Have you worked on this?  If so, what are the syntax for "VIEWCLIENTOPTIONS" within the viewclient.conf file?

I would be very interested in the bootable image.  You should be able to create a bootable USB. Let me know if you need help.

Thanks Deric for the reply. But I am still to get my answer about the
vmware view client 4.6 with local mode. To reiterate the question,
could anyone please tell how far the development work has gone and
will there be any releases of the same in future to enable local mode
checkout in Linux?

Also, are there any set of steps that i should follow to get started
with the development be able to contribute to this development effort?

Thanks and regards.

no work has been done.

you'd need access to unpublished/undocumented portions of the protocol, so it might be difficult. it might be possible to get those portions of the protocol published for you, but i believe they're still sort of experimental, and those teams may not be willing to lock them down quite yet.

Thanks Jacob for the information.

So can you point me out the people whom should i contact to get at
least an initial understanding document for the project? also, are
there any particular steps I should follow to setup the development
environment?
Thanks.
