VMware View Open Client 4.0.0 GA Now Available

We've released the GA build of VMware View Open Client 4.0!

This release fixes one bug since the Release Candidate:

* Resolved duplicate mnemonics on connection dialog (bz 490680)

Packages for RPM and Debian-based distributions, as well as binary and
source tarballs, can be downloaded from the Google Code site:

Thanks for this. Just got the package compiled and noticed a couple things.

I still don't have a lab environment for full testing but bringing up
the client initially looks good except that the 'Cancel' button is
always greyed out. If I put something in the broker field, the
'Continue' button becomes usable but 'Cancel' never does.

Also, it looks like there is now a 'VMware View Open Client.app'
directory with all the appropriate resources such as icons etc. This
is pretty cool. There are still dependencies that the application
needs from /usr/local so it doesn't seem fully independent. It would
be really cool if there were a directory within the .app directory
where the application would look first prior to system directories so
I could add the library dependencies and make the .app truly portable
to say another system or simply a binary download without having to
build a package/installer. At this point is there anything like this?

Thanks again for the good work. I'll wait to hear about the 'Cancel'
button. My intent was to publish the compiled version 4 client like
previous versions but don't know if I'll have time before the end of
the year.

This is maybe a little strange, but is intentional. To quit the OS X
client, you can either close the window with the WM icon or use the
quit menu (Cmd-q).

Ah, ok. There's a script - fix-toolchain-paths.sh.in - that you can
probably change to get it to do this. Change this line:

for lib in $(@OTOOL@ -L "$1" | @AWK@ '{ print $1 }' | @GREP@ toolchain) ; do

and put in local or /usr/local instead of toolchain, and i think it'll
do exactly what you're looking for.
