This sounds like a routing/firewall problem; can you route directly from your client to the remote desktop IP? Your server might need the to enable connection tunneling for the connection to work.

yes; specifically, the open client does not include support for PCoIP, but if you have PCoIP support the open client can use it. Unfortunately, PCoIP support is not available for download directly from VMware; you can get it pre-installed on various third party thin clients, for example.
If you would like VMware to make PCoIP available for download, I suggest you request this from your sales contact.

you could still connect to all of your desktops, but they'd use RDP instead of PCoIP. i wouldn't necessarily call this "crippled" but it would be different than the "experience" you'd get with PCoIP.

It looks like that thin client includes the View client with PCoIP support already, so you wouldn't need the open client.
