Possibly you should ask on the Thinstation developer lists...????

A number of people have already done this.

I have published a Thinstation LiveCD that has JUST the vmware-view
open client (with configurable parameter settings)

http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=80408&package_id=82039&release_id=297803

I am making some tests with this version of thinstation. It works just fine with the default options. The problem is that i change the "thinstation.conf.user" to enable usb and to define The IP of the VDI Broker and recompile the iso. After burn a cd with the new iso, i can´t see any modifications made in the configuration file.

Can someone help me on this? USB redirection to a VM with XP is possible isn´t it?

Thanks

Probably a better discussion over on the Thinstation mailing list. I
have copied the developer one (this is still an early version).

I assume you are using the LiveCD and following the script in the
_HowTo-LiveCD.txt file.

There is a bug in the rebuild-iso.bat file (now that I look), which will
create a LiveCD.basic.iso file (rather than a LiveCD.vmview.iso file),
but otherwise should work.

When you mount the burnt CD on any computer can you see your
thinstation.profile/thinstation,conf.user file and does it contain the
settings you want?

Hi,

Yes, im following the script in the HowTo-LiveCD.txt file.

After mounting the burnt CD on any computer I can see the thinstation.profile/thinstation,conf.user file with the changes made.

It looks like that the conf file is ignored. All the settings made are there but not refleted in the boot of the ThinStation.

It is thinstation.profile/

Note dot before conf.user

We have found that he vmware-view-open client doesn't support 2 redirect statements.

So if you use

SESSION_0_VMVIEW_REDIRECT1="sound=local -r disk:USB=/mnt/usbdevice/sda1"

it should work.

Cabe,
Have you by chance got the usb redirect to work. So far this
Thinstation-2.2.2-LiveCD.vmview.exe with the ts-o-matic helped alot. I
got the sound to work :)

Cabe, try
SESSION_0_VMVIEW_REDIRECT2=" disk:usb=/mnt/usbdevice/sda1"

Linux is case sensitive. I have also had some interesting feedback re:
a different problem about it not accepting just 1 rdesktop option and
it may have been the 'space' at the beginning of the option....
