Hello Everyone,

I'd like to extract network for densely packed fibers like the below.

I’ve been trying to apply "vmtknetworkExtraction" to this, but the extraction results 1)fails to detect all the fibers 2) shows that most of lines seems stretched from the center like the below.

So my questions are,
1. Why vmtknetworkExtraction fails for this data?

2) Is vmtknetworkExtraction capable for analyzing such densly packed fibers? What input-variables can I change for better running the algorithm?

I really appreciate any comments on this issue!!

Thanks,
Jinyeop

All those straight line segments indicate that path search failed. You need to have a much cleaner, simpler segmentation. I'm not sure if VMTK is suitable for this kind of fiber analysis - maybe Heiko Stark's tools could work better (https://stark-jena.de/research-interests/measurement/fibers/).
