centerline to mesh

Hi,

I have some centerline information in ASCII files (point coordinates for faces and their connectivity as well as diameter). I know that I can write a parser to convert this to VTK and use VMTK thereof. However, I want to ask if there is a way to directly read these ascii files and visualize them as vtk?
