I just upgraded our Pathworks a few months ago from the 5.x world to 6.0c so
our Win2k workstations could access shares on the Vax. Works fine. NOW I
am looking at moving our servers from NT 4 to Windows Server 2003. Has
anyone gone through this one? Can you tell me if any problems occur in
reaching shares via Pathworks when the DC's are running Win2003 Server? I
don't want to walk into another surprise.

Thanks!
Bill

As far as I remember, V6.0x servers can only act as PDC or BDC, which means, that they
can only be member in NT- or mixed mode domain. V6.1 added member support, which means that
the pathworks server can be a member server in a pure AD domain. But V6.1 needs new licenses.

Check also if the old PW6 is supported/working with XP/W2003.
It could be that you need Advanced Server V7.x which means Alpha and not VAX.

Our PW 6.0c works fine with our W2k and XP workstations. But the mystery is
whether it will fly with Win2003 Server. What I'm wondering is... even if
the PW server is changed to member server (vs. DC), any access to shares
will still have to authenticate with the DC (Win2003 server)...right? Which
would mean PW-to-Win2003 server communications has to work or we won't have
share access to the Vax system. Making the Vax to Alpha move just ain't
gonna happen. I keep pushing to replace our whole office system (someday)
with a more current flavor (ie. S.A.P. & SQL), so I don't see putting the
time or expense into a move to Alpha. Just trying to hold the pieces
together for as long as I can.
