This position of Senior Software Engineer is based in New York in
the POSIT group. POSIT, a joint venture product with ITG, Inc
(http://www.itginc.com), is a proprietary electronic equity trading
system for institutional investors. The primary responsibility of
this position will be converting the existing RMS file system based
database to Sybase. Other responsibilities will include gathering
requirements from the trading desk, designing and programming
enhancements to the system, developing new and maintaining existing
interfaces to real-time price feeds, maintaining the POSIT system
software and providing second level support to the trading desk and
clients. Candidates should have at least three years of programming
experience in C and FORTRAN on the VMS operating system. Knowledge
of DCL, VMS system services and RMS file structures and usage is
essential. Advanced knowledge of relational databases and at least
one year of experience with using Sybase on VMS is required. Some
experience with UNIX and socket programming is preferred.
