Alpha AXP available for Public Test Drive

University of Texas offers Alpha AXP for Public Test Drive

For those of you who want to test drive an Alpha AXP 3000-800 system
running OpenVMS, The University of Texas with the assistance of Digital
Equipment Corporation is providing this service to the Internet community.

To register for an account, rlogin or telnet to axpvms.cc.utexas.edu, and log
in as AXPGUEST. Answer the questions and if you pass the export restriction
screening, you will be given an account. There is no password on AXPGUEST,
so just type return if you are prompted for a password.

The DEC AXP 3000-800 systems has 128MBytes memory, and 6 GB of disk space.
There are a number of Digital software products installed along with some
third party products and a few public domain software tools. Please read
all rules and guidelines and follow them when using the system.

This system is being made available for people who want to try out an AXP
system. It has a number of software products installed and we will consider
installing other Digital products by request. The system is not intended
to be used as a mail server, irc host, archive server, games server, news
server or replacement for local computing resources. This system is NOT
backed up, so it makes a really lousy archive site.;-) Please do not abuse
this system; abusers will lose their accounts and possibly jeopardize
their entire organization's access to this system. This service will
continue through April 1995.

The University of Texas Computation Center would like to thank Digital
Equipment and Gail Grant for helping make this service available and
we hope you find access to this AXP OpenVMS system useful!
