wxWindows 1.61b for VMS

Dear VMS users,

I have done a port of the free wxWindows v1.61b portable GUI C++
classlibrary to VMS under Motif. It is for VAX and AXP.
This enables programs using this classlibrary to be compiled
under MS-Windows, UNIX-Motif and VMS-Motif.
MAC, NeXT and OS/2 ports are under work.

You can also directly use FTP to get a working source-code version
(which should be compileable without changes) via annonymous FTP from:

Please get the 'readyuse.txt' file and the 'vmsready.zip' archive. The
other files are the unpatched version of the library and in
'wx161vms.zip' there are technical comments about the changes and
additions which I have done to the classlibrary.

CAVE: It may be necessary to edit the file [.wxw161.src]motif.opt
which contains the libraries that are linked into
executables. The current 'motif.opt' works fine for
my AXP, but maybe you have to add or modify some libraries.
Please ask your system guru.

It would be fine if some people could download the software and test
and use it. Please report any installation or compilations problems
to me. I will then try to incorporate your suggestions into the actual code.
This will raise the quality of the port which is a benefit for all of us.
