I'm fairly new to VMware but would like to use the vmktree tool to monitor performance on the environment.  Our environment is using ESX 3.5.  I have downloaded vmktree-0.3.0RC5.tar.bz2 to my lap top.  Do I need to upload this file to the ESX host?  If so, what directory.  If I don't need to upload the file to the host, how do I go about installing vmktree? If I run these commands through a putty session to the host, will it install vmktree??

tar xjvf vmktree-0.x.xx.tar.bz2
cd vmktree-0.x.xx
./install.sh

Thanks in advance.

Travis,
If you read the README file inside that archive file you downloaded you'll see that
you will need to install vmktree inside a virtual (or physical) machine
now instead of in the Service Console.

I've just updated the Quick Install Guide and posted it here:
http://vmktree.org/?page_id=8

Thanks to Boris Berenberg for pointing out a few issues to the previous
posted guide.

Lars
