I recently downloaded and installed Ubuntu 15 with Kernel 4.2.0 and then ran the event-example.c file. It ran normally and I stopped it and then ran it again about one minute later and go the error:

[root@xenserver-testbed examples]# ./event-example BUNTU15 1631
xc: error: Failed to populate ring pfn
 (16 = Device or resource busy): Internal error
VMI_ERROR: vm_event is (or was) active on this domain
VMI_ERROR: Failed to initialize xen events.
Failed to init LibVMI library.

(process:13363): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_hash_table_destroy: assertion 'hash_table != NULL' failed
VMI_ERROR: Error disabling monitor vm_event ring.
[root@xenserver-testbed examples]#

Is this a problem on my end or with LibVMI?

What version of Xen are you using?

What happens if you are re-run event-example? Sometimes it doesn't seem to close the vm_event stuff properly but the second time it resets, so the third run can work properly again.

Tamas,

When I re-run the example I get the same error. If I reboot the VM the error goes away and I can run the example only once but after that I keep getting the error.

Thanks,
D'Mita

It works fine on my Xen 4.6 server, I don't get the error you have. Can you reproduce the issue? If so, please enable all debug output and post it so we can see what might be going wrong on your rig.

Tamas,

Which Linux distribution are you using for your Dom0 kernel?
