Greetings,

As a forewarning I am a new user of Xen as well as of LibVMI.

I have successfully gotten openSUSE 12.1 (x86_64) up and running as a
dom0 with a domU of openSUSE 12.1 (x86) installed and operational.
Upon attempting to run the examples provided with the libVMI library I
have come across the error that memory paging is disabled for the
guest OS. The output of './process-list opensuse12' is below.

--------------------------------------------
LibVMI Version 0.6
--found Xen
LibVMI Mode 2
--got id from name (opensuse12 --> 2)
**set image_type = opensuse12
**set hvm to false (PV).
--completed driver init.
1 |opensuse12 {
2 | ostype = "Linux";
3 | sysmap = "/boot/System.map-3.1.0-1.2-xen";
4 |# linux_name = 0x2e0;
5 | linux_tasks = 0x1b0;
6 | linux_mm = 0x1cc;
7 | linux_pid = 0x204;
8 | linux_pgd = 0x24;
9 | linux_addr = 0x78;
10 |}--got sysmap from config (/boot/System.map-3.1.0-1.2-xen).
--reading in linux offsets from config file.
--got ostype from config (Linux).
**set os_type to Linux.
**set page_offset = 0xc0000000
**set size = 805306368
VMI_ERROR: Paging disabled for this VM, not supported.
VMI_ERROR: Memory layout not supported.
Failed to init LibVMI library.
--------------------------------------------

Admittedly, I am not entirely fluent with Linux just yet, so it is
entirely possible (and even likely) that I have made a basic oversight
regarding the system configuration.

Any and all information you are able to provide would be greatly
appreciated.

Dan,

Sorry for the delay in replying. It turns out that there has been a
long standing bug in LibVMI that prevented it from working properly
with PV domains. The 0.8 release that went out yesterday includes a
fix for this problem.
