Subj: New King County CSA Phone numbers and new King County initiatives

As Manager of King County’s Community Service Area (CSA) I have had the pleasure of meeting you over the last year and a half.   I wanted to give you an update on a few key issues in King County, let you know that the CSA Grant funding for 2014 is now open for applications, and finally to let you know that the CSA team has new phone numbers.

2014 CSA Grants available

We just announced availability of the $60,000 in available funds for the 2014 CSA Grant program.   We funded 49 projects over the last two years and hope that you will work in your community to find more for us to consider supporting.   The CSA grant application and more information about the CSA grants and CSA program is available at the following link:  http://www.kingcounty.gov/exec/community-service-areas.aspx   Grants will be due January 10, 2014.

Opportunities to influence the future of King County – weigh in on the King County Strategic Plan

King County is in the process of updating the King County Strategic Plan, the broad policy document directing future goals and initiatives for the County.  King County is expanding outreach for this initiative by offering two ways to reach community members:
On-line: Share your experiences and ideas at www.OneKingCounty.info, an interactive, online discussion forum among residents and King County.   This link will be available through the end of November.
In Person: Attend one of seven public workshops in October and early November throughout the county. A list of the sites and their dates is available at the following web site:
www.kingcounty.gov/exec/PSB/CountyStratPlan/StrategicPlanUpdate

Help connect King County residents to health care

King County is working with a wide range of community partners to help enroll King County residents without health care coverage through the Affordable Care Act.   Information about getting enrolled in an insurance plan is available at the following web site:

http://kingcounty.gov/coverage    There are also enrollment events being scheduled throughout King County.  Information about these is available at:  http://www.kingcounty.gov/healthservices/health/personal/coverage/calendar.aspx

Community Service Area staff have new phone numbers

Finally, I wanted to inform you of the new phone numbers for King County’s Community Service area staff.  They are:
