Subj: Puget Sound Funding Opportunity: Local Pollution Identifcation and Correction Program

Hello,

You signed up to receive email notification of funding opportunities to implement the Puget Sound Action Agenda.

Departments of Health and Ecology are inviting counties, tribes and local integrating organizations to apply for National Estuary Program (NEP) funding for Pollution Identification and Correction (PIC) projects to protect and restore shellfish growing areas, recreational beaches and water quality in Puget Sound.

$1.1 million is available immediately and applications will be considered for future National Estuary Program (NEP) funds.  Awards will range from $150,000 to $600,000 for each project.

The application deadline is February 28.

A link to the application and more information about NEP funding and PIC’s role in shellfish restoration and meeting the goals of the Puget Sound Action Agenda can be accessed from the Office of Shellfish and Water Protection website: http://www.doh.wa.gov/CommunityandEnvironment/Shellfish/EPAGrants/PathogensGrant.aspx

Please pass this email on to others who may be interested.

If you have questions, please contact Mary Knackstedt, EPA Grant Coordinator, Department of Health at 360-236-3319; mary.kn...@DOH.wa.gov

The funding is part of the Puget Sound National Estuary Program (NEP) grants to prevent, reduce and control pathogens, and toxics and nutrients.
