The Tacoma Smelter Plume 2013 Annual Report is now available at: https://fortress.wa.gov/ecy/gsp/DocViewer.ashx?did=24235 (This is a large file, so it may take some time to load.)

Why should I look at the report?
This 20-page booklet explains how the state is using the $94.6 million Asarco settlement to protect human health.  Short stories, photos, and graphics make for a quick read.

What are the highlights from 2013?

  • Started free soil sampling for homes in the most impacted areas of the plume.
  • Started free soil cleanups for yards with arsenic levels over 100 parts per million.
  • New outreach programs in King County include free home soil testing and grants for community groups.

In January we will have printed copies of the report available.  Please contact me if you would like one sent to you.

Thank you!

Hannah
