This is a copy of an Email from Jim Galchick,

I can't find her dad's name anywhere in my files but maybe there is
someone out there who remembers him in Okinawa or Yokosuka. Can you
post this on web page? Will post in newsletter in June- SF-Jim

Subject: WWII VMF 311

I am the daughter of a WWII Marine VMF 311. My dad, Sgt. Elmer
Bartlett, passed away July 1966. Because I was so young, I have only
vague memories of the stories he told. He was stationed on Okinawa
after the invasion and later at Yokosuka. Is your group the same? If
so, could you share with me any information about group such as the
bases where they were trained, the trip overseas, etc. Dad was a
welder. Thank you so much and...Semper Fi! Cindy Baker
